How your data is handled

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 May 2026

Dashavaani is an astrology service that needs birth details to prepare charts and readings. This page describes what we collect, where we store it, and how to remove it. We use plain language. If anything here is unclear, contact us at the address on the contact page.

What we collect

  • Email address — captured on the login screen so a returning visitor can resume their saved profile.
  • Birth profile — name, date of birth, time of birth, birthplace, current city, and the life concern you choose to share. You provide this; we do not infer it.
  • Reading history — questions you ask and the structured reading output. Not yet stored on a server; see the "Where the data lives" section.
  • Newsletter subscriptions — if you opt in, we store your email and consent timestamp.

What we do not collect

  • Government IDs, phone numbers, or payment data on the current public site.
  • Birth charts or readings belonging to anyone except the profile you save.
  • Health, legal, or financial records.

Where the data lives

Profile setup requires email access-code authentication. The current site stores the login session and profile draft in this browser so the form can reopen after login. Clearing your browser data removes the draft. Other devices do not see this draft profile yet.

When cloud profile sync launches, profiles will be stored on Dashavaani's servers in an encrypted database. We will update this page before that change goes live.

Newsletter emails are sent through a third-party email provider. We will name the provider on this page once selected.

How long we keep it

  • Authenticated browser profile draft: as long as you keep it; clearing your browser removes it.
  • Server-synced profile (post-launch): until you delete your account.
  • Newsletter subscription: until you unsubscribe via the link in every email.
  • Logs (technical, not your questions): rotated within 30 days.

Your controls

  • Use the Clear Profile button on the private page to wipe the authenticated browser profile draft and session.
  • Unsubscribe from the newsletter using the one-click link in every issue.
  • Once accounts launch, you will be able to export your profile and readings as JSON and delete your account.
  • For any other request, write to us via the contact page.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with service providers that operate the site (hosting, email delivery, error monitoring) under contracts that limit them to processing data on our behalf. We will disclose data when compelled by law.

Security

We transport all production traffic over HTTPS. Server-stored data, when it launches, will be encrypted at rest with managed-database encryption. No system is fully impervious; we will publish a security contact and incident notification policy with the account launch.

Children

Dashavaani is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has used the service, contact us and we will remove the data.

Changes

Material changes to this policy will be announced on the home page and recorded with a new "Last updated" date.
